MinDepressionsHjælp App
MinDepressionsHjælp is a concept for a mental health support app aimed at young people aged 15–30 who are living with depression.
The project was developed in collaboration with Region Midtjylland as part of their WIGI initiative (When Inclusive Goes Interactive), which explores how digital tools can reduce inequality in the healthcare system.
The app addresses a crucial need: the moment after diagnosis, or after finishing a treatment program, when individuals are left wondering what do I do next?
Our goal was to design a low-threshold, non-clinical, and user-centred tool to help users find relevant mental health services in their area - such as psychologists, group therapy programs, or peer support initiatives.
The design process began with extensive research into depression, suicide prevention, and mental healthcare in Denmark.
Through brainstorming, ideation, and low-fidelity sketching, we identified the key user needs: clarity, guidance, and accessibility.
We developed a high-fidelity prototype in Figma, incorporating feedback from our target users through interviews and usability testing.
The app provides personalized search results based on location and treatment type, as well as emergency resources and clear next steps for users who feel lost or overwhelmed.
We were especially attentive to tone of voice, color usage, and structure-making sure the app felt calm, reassuring, and easy to use, even for users with low mental energy.
We aimed to create a tool that doesn’t diagnose or treat, but supports and empowers people to take the next step toward help. Whether you're just starting to seek support or returning to care after a break, MinDepressionsHjælp is designed to meet you where you are.
